British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) is one of the main pathways for skilled workers and entrepreneurs who want to settle in British Columbia. The program runs periodic invitations, often called a BC PNP Draw, where eligible registrants may receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) based on their stream, score, and BC’s current priorities.

What A BC PNP Draw Means For Applicants

A BC PNP Draw is the selection event in which the Province issues Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates who have registered in the BC PNP online system. Each draw has its own criteria, which can include stream, minimum score, occupation, and other policy priorities.

Skills Immigration BC PNP Draw

The Skills Immigration category is for foreign nationals with the skills and work experience required by BC employers. It typically includes streams for skilled workers, international graduates, entry-level and semi-skilled workers, and healthcare professionals.

In a Skills Immigration BC PNP Draw, the Province may invite candidates in general draws or targeted draws. Targeted draws may focus on specific occupations or priority sectors, meaning the minimum score and eligibility requirements can shift from one draw to the next.

If you are registered under Skills Immigration, you should track:

  1. The draw date and whether it was general or targeted.
  2. The minimum score (if published for your stream).
  3. Any occupation-specific notes that could affect eligibility.

Entrepreneur Immigration BC PNP Draw

The Entrepreneur Immigration category is for experienced businesspeople who want to establish, buy, or expand a business in British Columbia. This pathway generally focuses on business and management experience, net worth, investment plans, job creation, and the proposal’s commercial viability.

An Entrepreneur Immigration BC PNP Draw is different from Skills Immigration. The Province may issue invitations based on business concepts and scoring criteria that relate to the entrepreneur’s proposal and the expected economic benefit in British Columbia.
