Express Entry Draw #222: 545 PNP candidates invited

545 PNP candidates were invited to apply for permanent residence in the tenth Express Entry draw of the year.

The May 11th draw targeted Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 753 points. It is just 19 points lower than the previous draw. Moreover, the score cut-off is relatively high because all PNP candidates in the Express Entry pool automatically get 600 points added to their score.

In this round, the tie-break rule applied to candidates who submitted their profiles before December 15, 2021, at 20:32:57 UTC. Invited candidates now have 60 days to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

Previous Draws:

In the first quarter of 2022, Canada only invited 6,470 EE candidates to apply for immigration. This is one of the lowest first quarter compared to previous years. The drop in invitations is partially due to IRCC only inviting PNP candidates.

However, on April 22, the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, officially announced that Express Entry draws under the federal high-skilled streams will resume in early July. This includes the: Canadian experience class (CEC)federal skilled worker class (FSWP), and federal skilled trades class (FSTP).

The Minister also noted that new applications under these streams will be processed within the 6-month service standard. To read more about this, please visit the following article:
