Express Entry held major draw: 1,036 PNP candidates invited

1,036 immigration PNP candidates were invited to apply for permanent residence in the second Express Entry draw of 2022.

The January 19 draw, targeted Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 745 points. It is 63 points lower than the previous draw. The score cut-off is relatively high because all PNP candidates in the Express Entry pool automatically get 600 points added to their score.

In this round, the tie-break rule applied to candidates who submitted their profiles before July 05, 2021, at 13:12:05 UTC.

Will all Express Entry draws be for PNP applicants?

We were hoping to see soon Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) invitations. However, most of the Express Entry draws have been for PNP candidates only. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has not invited CEC candidates since September 2021. Moreover, we haven’t seen an FSWP draw since December 2020.

In November 2021, IRCC explained that in order to support its target of welcoming 401,000 immigrants to Canada, it had to stop FSWP invitations. Parsai Immigration tried to contact the office of the Minister of Immigration; however, we have not had any response.
