Ontario’s Expression of Interest (EOI) system is now open for intake to the Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate streams. This means that Ontario graduates in the province can register for a chance to get a provincial nomination through two more immigration programs.

Other programs that use the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) EOI system are In-Demand Skills, International Student, and Foreign Worker.

According to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP),  the expression of interest system will remain open for this stream throughout the year. Candidates can register an EOI at any time.

If you are part of the EOI system you can be considered for Ontario immigration at any time. The Ontario Program ranks candidates’ profiles based on its scoring matrix. It takes into account:

  • Education
  • Work experience
  • Intended destination in Ontario among other factors.

The purpose of this program is to support candidates who have the skills and experience to succeed in Ontario’s labour market.

Register: expression of interest system in Ontario

First, you must carefully review the relevant website pages to ensure that you meet all stream criteria before registering an expression of interest. If you meet with the criteria you can:

  • Create a profile in the OINP e-Filing Portal
  • Read the applicant requirements for your stream and ensure that you are eligible
  • Register an expression of interest for one or more streams

And remember, the information you provide in your expression of interest must be accurate at the time you register or update your expression of interest.

After Registration

Once you have registered an expression of interest you don’t need to contact the program. If you are invited to apply, the program will contact you or your representative with instructions. Also, you will receive a notification in the OINP e-Filing Portal.

It is important to note that registration does not guarantee that you will be invited to apply. In the same way, an invitation to apply does not guarantee you will receive a certificate of nomination

Remember! Your expression of interest registration is valid for: up to 12 months, until you receive an invitation to apply or you withdraw your registration. After 12 months your expression of interest will automatically be deleted.
