Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate streams

Ontario invited 691 candidates under Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate streams

Today, September 14, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) invited 691 candidates eligible under the Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate streams.

627 graduates were invited under Masters program with a score of 35 and above. In addition, 64 graduates were invited under the Ph.D. Graduate stream with a cut-off score of 16. Of course, invited candidates needed to have submitted a profile in Ontario’s Expression of Interest (EOI) system.

The Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate streams help to ease the transition to permanent residency for recent eligible Ontario graduates. Accordingly, these candidates need to meet the criteria of this stream first.

How do the Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate streams work?

The Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate streams give international graduates the opportunity to apply for a nomination from the OINP to permanently live and work in Ontario. Although, you can only apply if you first register an expression of interest and are issued an invitation to apply.

General requirements

  • Be a recent graduate with a Masters or PhD degree from an eligible Ontario university.
  • Have at least one full academic year of a Masters program, or at least two years of PhD studies. Of course, the studies must have been completed in Ontario.
  • Candidates eligible under the Masters Graduate stream must demonstrate language proficiency at a minimum CLB 7 in each area. Of course, it has to be an eligible French or English language exam.
  • Applicants must have resided in Ontario for at least one year of the past two years. Masters graduates must also be living in Ontario with legal status at the time of applying.
  • You must have enough money to support yourself and your dependent family members when you settle in Canada.
